With dedication and artistry, the designer behind the bespoke atelier coco tutu, passionately creates exclusive, handcrafted tutus and dance costumes. All are constructed with original designs and are individually crafted and styled, so you can be confident you will always wear something unique and graceful.
Satoko studied Design and Architecture in Japan and the US, with a focus on stage design for theatre with a fascination for The Performing Arts.
In Japan she has years of experience working with leading international fashion and beauty houses in interior design and marketing.
When her family moved to HK, she re-discovered her passion for fashion as an editor with a British retailer featuring curated collections from the most luxurious and innovative maisons worldwide.
With a keen eye for modern elegance and a love for craftsmanship and detail,
she started designing dance costumes for her daughter, Coco, a passionate classical ballet protegee. This mother and daughter's mutual enchantment for fashion and dance has become

Having had opportunities to work closely with and study the creative process of fashion and artistic icons worldwide, the designer developed a gift for modern and traditional aesthetics and exquisite finishes. The label's custom design highlights the dancer's beauty, alignment and gracefulness, reflecting the choreographer's vision. coco tutu is for dancers who covet elegance with a modern twist on stage.
Sustainability

Sustainability in the fashion industry is a necessary focus for the label. With limited design choices of desirable quality costumes and rental options locally, she decided to take matters into her own hands to close the loop on Hong Kong's burgeoning dancewear market.
coco tutu's craftsmanship, use of high-quality materials and personalised production lead to a lowered carbon footprint and a longer garment life cycle.

The atelier was named after the designer's daughter, Coco, by her ballet teacher, Ms. Venus Villa, who has danced on the stage as a principal ballerina in some of the most prestigious theatres around the globe. Her fluid, graceful movements and perfect lines as a dancer and her vision and understanding of costumes guide the label's creations.
